Set Free is proud to participate in the 2026 BMW Charity Pro-Am Birdies for Charity program, a powerful way to multiply your impact in the fight against child slavery and the water crisis.

What Is Birdies for Charity?

Birdies for Charity, presented by Michelin North America, is a giving platform connected to the BMW Charity Pro-Am, happening June 1–7, 2026 at Thornblade Country Club of Spartanburg.

It works like this:

You can pledge an amount for every birdie made during tournament week
OR you can make a one-time flat donation

And here’s the best part:

Every dollar donated to Set Free receives a 25% match*

That means your $100 gift becomes $125, instantly increasing your impact.

There is no cost to Set Free to participate, and every penny donated goes directly to our mission, plus the 25% bonus match (for the first $100,000 raised among all charities).

What Is a “Birdie”?

Not into golf? No problem! In golf, a birdie happens when a player completes a hole using one stroke less than par.

During the BMW Charity Pro-Am, thousands of birdies are made by professionals each year. Here's a look back at the number of birdies during each championship over the past seven years:

Guess the Birdies & Win Big

When you donate, you can also participate in the fun by guessing the total number of birdies made during tournament week. Will your vote be as high as the birdie count was in 2018, or as low as it was last year?

The person who guesses the exact number — or comes closest without going over — wins the Grand Prize:

Two-night stay at the Greenville Marriott
Two-night stay at the Spartanburg Marriott
An outing for four at Thornblade Club
BMW Performance Driving School experience for four

Only one Grand Prize will be awarded. In case of ties, winners are selected by random drawing by Tournament Officials.

Your support through Birdies for Charity helps us:

Drill Clean Water Wells

Lack of clean water is one of the driving factors behind vulnerability to exploitation. Families in desperate situations are more susceptible to trafficking. By drilling wells in high-risk communities, we reduce vulnerability at its root. To date, our initiatives have helped provide clean water to hundreds of thousands of people, which leads to healthier families and less crippling debt.

Host Medical Clinics

In vulnerable regions, access to medical care is often limited or nonexistent. We host medical clinics that serve entire communities, addressing urgent health needs and building trust with families, creating safer environments for children. In 2025 we hosted more than two dozen medical clinics, serving 26,129 people.

Care for Children Rescued from Slavery

Rescue is only the beginning. We provide ongoing care, stability, education, and support for children who have been freed from slavery. Healing takes time, and your generosity helps ensure children receive the long-term care they deserve. It also supports vocational training so we stop the cycle of slavery.
